I have to say the materials the product is made of feel amazing! I love the idea of the product, however the boots take an act of God to put on.
The Velcro closures always get stuck before you want to place them and then you have to peel them off which shifts the boot out of place ect....... it continues in this manner as a vicious (and very frustrating and time consuming) cycle. I have found a solution for this though.
That is to take the straps and fold them in half so that the Velcro is facing itself rough side to rough side. When you are ready just pull the end of the strap and place where desired. Ta-Da!
Also, I find that the boots run large based on the cowboy sizing chart. My QH mare is medium boned and almost 1200 pounds. I ordered a medium. They are much too big. How I know this is when you align the rib in the boot to the inside of the leg (LOVE THAT FEATURE!!!) and then try to properly place the darts on the fetlock per the instructions that come with, there is too much distance for both to happen. In other words if the darts are properly placed then the rib moves too far forward by about an inch. So I am just ordering a small. Thanks for reading! Hope this helps y'all out!

I just wish they would show he inside, because there's this brace like gel thing the fits the contour of the horses coffin bone. These support better then all the other boots on the market.(in my opinion). I've used these my whole life. They last YEARS. But they do run a little small.

I bought these for my 16.3 TB...who went on to a more appropriate home...:-) Then I had my 15.1 mare "returned"... Smart Pak said; "send those Large boots back...NO shipping charges" and I got the Mediums I needed...PERFECT! "We" are all very happy!

For their genre, these are really awesome boots. I have the front and back boots and love both of them. I've worked in deep sand, mud, dirt and I've never had any of it get inside the boot to irritate the leg (unlike my friends' boots who rode in the same conditions). Again, while other brands would make the leg get all sweaty and hot, the Legacy system had very minimal heat inside the boot and didn't 'sweat' the leg down by the end of the day. It's also very easy to clean and dries quickly. The only issue I've ever had with them is if you go through a field you are probably going to have to pull off a couple burrs off the outside. ;)
Like others have stated, fitting is paramount, but once you have the correct size fitted properly, the Legacy system boot is the best!!!

I'd like to differ with the first review on this product. The splint pad works extremely well, and helps to know where to position the boot. It ensures maximum protection in the delicate splint area. I have used these boots for over a year, and the velcro has never failed (in fact, that is the only pain in putting them on, is that the velcro sticks to the boot and is difficult to pull off!). I would be careful with black, because the leg tends to sweat on a hot day (I usually use regular splint boots when it's extremely hot to help with the heat, and I always cold hose afterwards). They are a lot cheaper than the Professional's Choice boots. I would definitely recommend these boots.

I really like these boots but they are hard to get fitted correctly. I had a hard time figuring out which boot went on which leg because the instructions that came with them aren't very helpful. I eventually sorted it all out and got them fitted correctly but you have to make sure you get the boot on perfectly or you can hurt the horses leg.... So I wouldn't recommend them to a beginner to figure out but they are perfect for a person with some experience. I can tell they are high quality though, and the blue looks very nice on my bay QH.
