"I just tried this on my Thoroughbred who gets a bit anxious when he travels and upsets his stomach. I followed the directions and it worked great! He ate, drank, and traveled really well. I thought it was easy to use and well worth the price. I recommend this product and will use it again."

"The paste is too thick and hard to get out of the tube. The tube is too large and it is hard to get it into the horse's mouth. I could see no affect on the horse as I could only get half the tube in the horse's mouth."

"I bought this a few years ago, just to calm my horse before she goes into the trailer. She doesn't mind the taste, but to me it smells horrible. As long as she gets it down I don't care how it smells. I'm buying 4 more tubes to have, I will never go to another show without this stuff! I recommend this to everyone at my barn who shows!"

"We travel a lot with work so I use this for travel as well as showing. It has a great combination of ingredients that make it ideal to give our horse a little extra boost with the stress of making changes. It is not very palatable for our horse but she gets mad just being given something but it sticks well so she doesn't spit it out"

"I'm not sure if this product really worked. I decided it would be good to try out since my horse is 18 and it was a hot summer. He didn't show any problems before or after use but I thought the extra vitamins and minerals could only help. The first time was difficult to administer and he didn't like it but the second and third times I used it, there was less of a problem. I have 1 more show and no more ship and show so I will see if i notice any difference."

"I love the idea of this product with all those ingredients combined, but it's not worth it when you can't get the supplement into the horse. The tube is too big and cumbersome, and the plunger doesn't push easily at all. Too bad. I wanted this to work, cause the concept is great. I would definitely try again if the consistency was modified."

"I ordered this product for a horse show to see if it made a difference in my horses digestion etc. The texture and consistency is very difficult to administer even when it is warm as it comes out in little pellets. I attempted to put it in his grain as he eats everything and he would not touch it. I can't speak to the Quality or Value since I wasn't able to get my horse to eat it which was disappointing. If we can get this in a form that is palatable, I would love to try the product again."

"Have used this several times and it seems to help when traveling. As some say, it can be hard to get out of the tube. KEEPING IT WARM before administering it makes it much easier to push out (cold turns it to stone). Wish they could make it tastier for the horse but haven't found many things my horses actually like (they HATED apple flavored wormer)."

"I would love to tell everyone how this product worked for me but I can't because I was unable to even get the stuff out of the tube! I bought 2 tubes of it to try. Waste of my money. I have had great experiences with some of the other "Smart" supplements such as the SmartHA Plus. Hopefully the other products I try in the future will live up to the Smart HA and not the SmartShip & Show."

"I was forced into moving my horse to a new barn over the summer, during our hot Wisconsin August. Not only was my horse going to a completely new barn, he goes into a moderate panic when being trailered alone. To make things worse, he had only been at the current barn for a few months and had just barely settled in. In the two weeks after arriving at this barn (which happened to be during the hottest part of the year - 90 degrees + and at least 65% humidity) he dropped at least 50 pounds, probably closer to 70. It was truly horrific. So, when faced with having to move him again due to barn closure, I saw the pastes in one of the SmartPak catalogues and decided, what the heck, it's worth a try. Especially since he had yet to gain back all of the weight he lost after the last move. I bought two tubes of Smart Ship & Show, and dispensed half of one the day before, one approximately a half-hour before moving time, and the remaining half tube the day after. WOW. He was still nervous about being trailered alone, but the screaming and dancing was at a minimum, and he actually stood still and walked calmly upon arrival at his new home. There was still some loose stool and a small drop in weight, but absolutely nothing compared to times previous. I absolutely recommend this product for everyone with a Nervous Nelly that needs to take a road trip. My only gripe is that the smell is god-awful. My horse didn't seem to mind at all, but after getting it on my hands I sure did!"

"At first glance, I loved everything about this product. However, after attempting to use a tube of this stuff, I have to give it a poor rating.
It has the consistency of frozen cookie dough.
It smells terrible.
My horse hated the taste.
The product in the tube was so difficult to administer that I dropped the entire syringe one or two times... and my horse managed to spit most of the product out.

"I used the Smartship and Show recently on my 23 year old Thoroughbred before we went to a Hunter Show. It was the first time we went to this location and show so I was a little concerned about behavior. Yeah, I know he is 23, but he acts like he is much younger. He has a tendency to ty up so I was concerned about how well he was going to be and hold up during the day. I was shocked in a way that my horse settled into the show quickly, jumped pretty well, and still had plenty of energy and strength afterwards. When he returned to the farm, I turned him out and he was chasing me around the field. I will continue to use the smartship and show for these hunter shows. Only issue I really had was it took me 3 different tries to get all of the paste out of the tube, but really that gave him an opportunity to make sure he ate what he was given instead of spitting half of it out."

"As usual, SmartPak has thought of everything. I loved all the ingredients listed in SS&S and I loved the concept. My gelding is 12, he's been to plenty of horse shows but starts to dance around like a 3 year old as soon as the wraps are brought out. I just wanted to provide him with some extra comfort for the trailer ride, stress of the day, etc. But like many other reviews stated this paste is very thick and goopy. It smells and tastes terrible (just as my gelding - he rolled his lips and stuck his nose in the air to avoid me). The plunger is not capable of pushing this paste out easily, it definitely requires a 3rd hand. Overall, I gave the product a "good"/ 4 star-rating because it seemed to help my guy, but perhaps SmartPak can make some improvements to make it this paste more user friendly."

"I used this for the first time this weekend on my young OTTB gelding at a large Event. I used it right after cross country to help him recover faster. It actually did! He drank more water than ever, and had a happy tummy the rest of the day. Fantastic product, especially since there wad noticeable (good) results. That said, it's a terrible tasting/smelling paste. Horse hated the constancy too. I was able to get him to eat most of it, but it was messy."

"I like the concept of the product and it helps, but it is very difficult to give to the horse. It is so thick in the tube I can't easily push it out , and while I'm trying to a smelly dark liquid is oozing out the back onto my hand. I can only get it into my horse's mouth in small amounts at a time and he really doesn't like the taste, so it is hard to keep him from spitting it out the thick blob of paste."

"I got a couple of tubes of SmartShip & Show before leaving for a horse trial away from home for my ulcer-prone OTTB who has been know to tie up on occasion. He is on SmartDigest Ultra as well as UlcerGuard when showing, so I can't really attest to how well the SS&S worked, but I like the idea of an ulcer preventative being conveniently mixed with electrolytes. The only downside is that the product is about the consistency of peanut butter, including the smell. My horse hated it."
