Polar Equine Inzone

For leisure riding, basic training, and rehabilitation.Putting the transmitter into place is extremely simple: the + electrode is first placed under the saddlecloth, the ? electrode is then fixed to the saddle girth, and finally the transmitter is fixed to the saddle.

"I found this at Smartpak and couldn't wait to try it. It was actually pretty easy to set up and I never had difficulty obtaining readings during my ride. It is very helpful for conditioning to watch the peak HR and the recovery time. I think this will be a great tool in improving my horse's fitness.
Also, I think this is a good tool to have in the barn for monitoring heart rates on colicy horses without having to use a stethoscope and count. Just attach it with a surcingle and you've got it on your watch!"

"The readings are correct... when you get them. The heart rate cannot always be found while actually riding. It does quite well while standing still, but I found that I spent half of my ride readjusting the electrodes. It's useful, but not what i expected."
