"I was thrilled with the boots in the store - so warm and stylish looking. I had to order a size UP (not down like recommended) b/c my calf didn't fit in the size 7. So they are a bit big for me. Fit a bit better with my orthotics. Good to ride in. Warm legs but my feet do get cold without 2 pair socks and/or foot warmers. Wish the footbed was more insulated. I would recommend them but not as thrilled as I thought I would be."

"Watched these boots for a while until I finally took the plunge and spent the money. Money well spent! Ordered a on the small size the first time and they were too narrow. Exchanged for my normal size and they are great! Tons of compliments! Hay, snow, manure, slush - all wipe off with a leather wipe. Much more cost effective and durable than similar items elsewhere. Thanks again to the great smartpak customer service for the returns!"

"I always loved the look of these boots and was so excited to finally order a pair. After reading the reviews that these boots run really big, I ordered on the small side since I'm in between sizes. These boots don't run big!!! I had to return them for a size up and waited patiently for my return to get there, processed and then get my right size. Sadly, they are going back. They fit but they are not what I expected at all. They are two different shades of brown so one looks new and one looks used. The lining on one of the insoles is too small so it bothers my toes and there is NO way I'm getting these on over jeans. They are beyond bulky. Not sure if it's me or the boot but for the money, I can't justify it. I really really wanted them to work out."

"I loved the boots but they just didn't fit my foot. I tried 2 sizes and had to return both. They ran large in length and in the vamp. My foot had too much room and moved as I walked. Too bad. Otherwise comfortable and felt like they would be warm."

"These are lovely boots, and when I ordered them I forgot that before zippers I had to wear field boots because I have a high instep and can't get my foot into regular dress boots. I had to send them back. I think the tops were plenty roomy - I had no problem until I wanted to get my foot past the turn. I can't say anything at all about the fit because...I couldn't get them on. There was no problem at all with the return, just stuck the return label on the box and off they went.

"This was a great looking boot, good quality. The boot fit good, I ordered an 8, and I wear an 8. The leg was snug. I do have thick calves. After jeans and thermals, they were extremely snug. I decided to return them, sadly!!"

"Have received so many compliments on them. They are not a "barn" boot, but are rugged enough for New England weather. I wear an 8 1/2 and ordered down (8) as recommended and they fit perfectly. Have worn them to skating rinks, cold indoor rings, ski mountains and errands: they keep my feet unbelievably warm. Highly recommend!"

"Boots are a great value and really neat looking. I read many of the reviews that said they ran big, so I ordered down a size to a 7 since I wear a 7.5-8. I had to send them back! They were waaaaay too big. I opted for a 6 instead. (Thank you to SmartPak for offering easy free returns! I had my boots back within a week!)The length is good, but the entire foot area is still big and boxy. They are not a snug fitting boot, nor do they mold to your foot as I thought they would(and I have a wide foot w/ a high arch, so if anything, they should be snugger on me). They are not a boot I would be comfortable working all day in (unlike my Ariat paddock boots), but a quick trip to the barn, mall or running errands would be fine. They are very warm and keep your feet dry!"

"I am going to be the voice of reason on these boots. I have been on the search for the holy grail of not-too-expensive casual winter riding boots for a long time, and will probably never find them. I did order and keep these - so that's something, even though they are not actually intended for riding. My biggest issue is finding boots that fit my really long and skinny legs, that are comfy and keep my feet warm. I like these because they actually make it up to me knee, and while not super tight in the calf, they do stay up well enough for me to ride in. Ultimately I would rather have a soft fitting too-wide calf than a formed calf that feels like a hollow pipe and ends three inches below my knee. I also like the very flexible ankle they afford.
My main issue is the quality of the materials. Both the suede leg and the leather foot bed are made of really thin leather. The faux shearling is nowhere near as warm as real shearling would be, and packs down fast. I have only worn them a few times, but I do not anticipate they will last terribly long. The leather of foot bed as shipped is not even remotely waterproofed, you can see the leather suck up water. I added lots of leather protectant and they are still taking up water more than i would like for a winter boot, especially since I live in Washington and it is wet most of the time.
As for fit, I am usually an 8.5-9 and usually order up, but I followed the reviews and went with the 8. They absolutely fit, though in hindsight I probably should have gone with the 9. They would have been a little too big but I like my boots a little on the spacious side."

"These boots are awesome. Where I live we get a lot of snow and these boots are really warm and comfortable. I love that they are so high and fit great with a pair of leggings. I ordered a size smaller and ended up exchanging for my normal size. They are a little loose but I wear a thicker sock and they are easier to take off. A great purchase!!"
