I would consider this pad a good value, however, it is not one of those exceptionally poofy wool pads that are often used to make up for a slightly ill-fitting saddle. I was looking for something with less bulk, so this works great for me! I do like that there is a clear spine channel for the comfort of your equine being. I've used it under 16.5" and 17" jump saddles and felt it was appropriately sized. I previously had a Mattes pad and a Thinline Trifecta pad that seems to stick out WAY too much behind the saddle, despite ordering the recommended size. Occasionally, I've used this in conjunction with a regular ThinLine pad for "the best of both worlds."

I've used many different types of half pads and decided to purchase this one because I was tired of sheepskin fleece pads. It doesn't fit right and is very thin. Would not recommend. Just waiting for it to get really dirty and get a different brand.

For the money the quality is ok. The pad is a little thinner then I would have liked, doesnt provide the comfort that I had hoped for. Oh well still an ok buy for the price.

This pad is well made. This difference between it and the higher end sheepskin pad is the loft of the wool. These sheep had shorter growth, or they clipped it post "harvest." If you need it for extra protection, it works great. If you need it to compensate for a not-so-perfect saddle fit, it might not work because it doesn't have a shim effect. Of course, it doesn't advertise that, either. I needed slightly more lift in the back. I found that my saddle felt uphill still. But this is just one horse/saddle combination.
