"I have an older horse (24!) who can get very grumpy about girthing when it's cold. His attitude improved vastly with this girth- I think largely because it stays soft and flexible when it's cold. I have had no issues with splitting ( knock on wood ) but I'm also very careful not to over tighten on my old man. I purchased one size up from his old girth."

"I had the same issue as the other reviewer with the photo of the girth that split. Mine did exactly the same thing. Fortunately, the material sewn down the middle kept the grith from splitting completely and kept the saddle -- and me -- from coming off the horse. This is completely unacceptable quality. Do not buy."

"While I love the thinline products this one is only OK. It does have a lot of stretch to it so that can be a good thing and it can also be a bad thing. While the girth lives up to the stay in place and comfort that thinline is famous for I really prefer the style, look and quality of the old design."

"I've used this girth for 4 months on one horse. It appeared to fit well, no rubbing or skin irritation, and has nice elastic. The girth split in half while I was riding today- only the outer elastic kept the entire girth from snapping in two. The material just completely separated into two. Very poor quality! Girth was lightly used and well cared for."

"This is a very stretchy soft girth that my mare seems to like quite a lot, even though it's a bit less wide than previous girths I've used on her. I would recommend it. However, due to its stretchiness, I am concerned that I'm going to have to buy a small size next time."
