Hit Air Equestrian Super Light Weight Vest
The?Hit Air Equestrian Super Light Weight Vest is a?harness type airbag that employs the new higher speed key ball mechanism (component that activates the CO2 cartridge).?This model is especially light weight, cool and more comfortable than the competing brand. It is also much quieter when deployed than the competing brand, making it much less likely to spook the horse during an unintended deployment.

"So I finally took the plung and bought an Air Vest. I'll be honest in that my decision to buy the Hit Air over the competition brand was purely about money. I could afford this one and not the other. But to my surprise I actually like it ALOT better than the competition. It is so light on that you barely notice it. I wore it for the first time last weekend in an event and I am happy to say that I did not use it (No unplanned dismounts, yay!) But I can say it was great to use and it definitely made me feel safer. I had the oportunity to try on the competition vest and I was so happy with my decision to buy the Hit Air. I definitely recommend it to anyone and look forward to wearing it in the future!"

"My daughter hated riding in her old foam vest, and was so happy when she outgrew it. But now that we own a spooky TB, I felt she needed another protective vest. There were no protests about wearing this one after the first day, and it is so comfortable that I wear it "just in case.""

"We bought this vest for our daughter when she moved up to Intermediate. When my husband saw the xc jumps for the first time he freaked. I feel much better that when THAT time comes she will be much better protected. After seeing a friend that is also a trainer take a fall on a novice level horse, I am sold on this product. She said she didn't even get the breath knocked out of her when she landed on her back HARD. Even lower levels should be wearing this vest. However - we lost the button that attaches the ripcord to the saddle when switching it to another saddle so be careful not to drop it in the tall grass. We need to get a new one before the next event."

"This is a good air vest. My daughter was worried that it would get in the way of her riding, but, it's so light and streamlined that she forgets she has it on. It's common for riders to jump off and forget to "unplug" - it's a good idea to put someone in charge of reminding them. The sizing on these vests can be confusing - - we've found that the 2XS-S seems to fits most riders, junior and adult. Please note, the saddle strap does not come with your purchase from Smart Pak - this is contrary to their website description. My personal opinion is you really need the saddle strap as it securely connects to the stirrup hooks. Attaching it to the D rings seems unwise as it could easily pull the rings out or break them. I did see one of these vests inflate - not a fall, just mistakenly forgot to unplug. The sound is odd, and the horses did startle a bit, but, none of the 5 horses who heard it seemed too spooked about it. We are very happy we made this purchase."

"I had one of these before, got from a mobile unit but it had a hole in it so I sent it back. I have been waiting on them to be the same price as the mobile unit for a while and came across smartpaks, the shipping was free so it was the exact same price! Be sure to buy the grab strap when you buy the vest, otherwise there will be some finagling trying to get something to attach the lanyard to. Love the vest, love the price!"
