"This haynet has reduced how many bales I have to pack to shows to keep the horses busy while trailering and stalled over the weekend. Now I can keep hay in front of them all day without it turning into bedding."

How to tie so it doesn't hang to the ground

"Draw tight! Hold with two fingers at draw. Loop around and pull 1/2 way through. Gather the length of the rope and tie a round knot right at the draw, pulling 1/2 to 3/4 of the rope thru. Wallah! You have just raised your hay net about a foot and a half. I read a review that noted how low it hangs when empty. It took me a couple of weeks to figure out a way to tie them so they werent on the ground. My horses are barefoot so it wasn't a big issue, but shod horses can get caught in any net. Great Product. See picture for knot. I'm 5'2" on a good day and these are hung right at my height."

"Bought 4 nets about a year ago. One of them got a small hole about 3 months into use. I credit the agressive eater for that. I repaired it with some parachute cord and it has held up just fine. If you have a greedy eater, hang several for the first week gradually decreasing to an appropriate amount of feed. I hang one very full bag at 5 am and at 3pm there is still a little in the bag. Two horses in a 1/8 acre paddock with no grass from 5am to 3pm. Then they graze at night. Definately a hay saver! BEST WAY TO FILL BAG - Put in empty 50 gallon or larger plastic trash can, pull draw string opening down and around top of can, tuck string under can and stuff bag. Pull string from under can and loosen top so the stuffed bag falls to the bottom of can. Finish stuffing and draw tight. You can see in the picture I use a carabiner clip to hang them to existing rope loops."

"I got 2 of these for my fat horses to slow down their hay consumption. One of them is a very eager eater so I was disappointed that it didn't slow him down more, but it is well worth it for the lack of waste of hay. My IR pony is doing very well with it. These hay nets are a lot sturdier than other hay bags I have used that they tore up in no time. No damage yet! I have ordered 3 more since I see how nice they are and well worth the price."

"I bought these hay nets based on the recommendation of a friend. I know from previous purchases that - when it comes to hay nets - cheaper is not always better. I am a firm believer in challenge/slow feeding and wanted these nets for all-purpose, ground level feeding.
So far, I'm very happy with the performance. I have removed the strings and replaced with locking chain links in order to attach the nets to stall mats. So far the nets are holding up very well to daily use. Each net holds a third to half a two-string bale and using two nets, I can feed my girls approxl. 12 hrs at a time (combined with other feeders, limited pasture).
When I've had them longer, I'll update my rating to give a better evaluation of quality."

"I got this net to replace my mini Freedom Feeder net after it went missing. I liked the FF but it's now significantly more expensive than when I first bought it. This net is much, much larger, which is nice because it holds a lot more hay (I think I could fit half of a 60-lb bale in there if I tried), but it hangs almost to the ground when empty even though it's hung ~5 ft up. It didn't hang this low initially- it has stretched out over time. It's far to large to hang in the trailer, so I've had to get an additional hay bag for that purpose. It's holes are a little larger than the FF I was used to, but still slows down my horse adequately, and it has held up very well so far. All hay nets are a bit of a pain to fill up, but this one isn't so bad, partly because I only put a couple flakes in at a time; I think it would be much harder if I were trying to fill it to capacity."

"This bag has made my mare eat her hay much more slowly. She loves to just gobble it down, and was not happy with trying to fish it out of the bag, but it makes the hay last longer for her and keeps her busy. The net seems like it will last as it seems like it is very sturdy."

"I bought this for my horse for several reasons. He has ulcers and needed to free feed but didn't want him gobbling it up right away because he is kind of a fat kid (love him to death though). He also has a habit of rubbing his mane out trying to get to little pieces of breakfast or dinner outside the bars. This net has been great!!! I can get about half a bale in it and it has really slowed down his eating!
Am thinking its so worth it of a purchase, I might get two more for my other horses!"

"I have only had these nets for about two months, but I am happy with them. My boys took to them with no problem (even my one that thinks he is entirely TOO regal to wear a muzzle or be fed from a bag!). These nets seem to be made of quality material and are very easy to fill. No tears or rips and no damage from the rain - and we have had plenty of that!"

It takes my horse a lot longer to go through his hay which keeps him occupied for most of the competition days."

"My horse is recovering from ulcers and I needed a way to keep hay in front of him continually while he was stalled. I was looking for a small holed hay net. There were very few out there and they were almost impossible to find for under $30. In addition any I did find received bad reviews. I took a chance on these and have been very happy with them. I have been using them for a month and so far they have held up to the beating my horse puts on it with no damage at all. I would order this hay net again."

"My pony thinks this is dinner and a toy. She will choose to eat from the hay bag rather than a pile of loose hay. Her supper lasts much longer because of the smaller holes which makes me happy. We waste less hay and the stalls stay a lot cleaner. Our entire barn is now using these hay nets in all of our stalls. We have been for about three months. Some of the bags used by the more playful or aggressive eaters have holes in them that we repaired with baling twine, they still have lots of life left in them. Even if we have to buy new nets once or maybe twice a year the savings in hay and bedding is still well worth it. We are using them for every size of horse from a 32" mini to an 18hh Percheron and they work equally well on all of them."
