Thanks for your question. The Dublin River Boots have an all leather foot combined with a Redskin leather and Pebble Nubuck upper, and are not machine washable. We would suggest cleaning these boots with products like the Dubarry Footwear Cleaner and Footwear Conditioner.

answer 2
No - they're all leather. But they are waterproof. I've tramped through mud and water with them, and they are still in excellent condition.

I have a 13.5 inch calf and can easily fit sweats or jeans inside the boot.

Don't have them handy to measure (I'm at work), but my calf is 16.5", and in the size 10 they fit fine over my skinny jeans w probably a little room to spare. Can be snugged up a little bit for smaller calves, but if you have *really* small calves, you'd probably prefer the Dublin Pinnacle as that style has more adjustability.

Thanks for your question. The Dublin River Boots were designed as more of a fashionable boot to wear around the barn when you're doing chores to help keep your feet dry, or even when you're out around town. They do have a heel, so may be worn for occasional riding, but since this wasn't the intended design they may not hold up well for daily riding. They have a Drilex lined calf to help keep your leg cooler and sweat-free.

answer 2
I wouldn't recommend riding in them, as they're large around the ankle and provide little contact. They're great for bareback riding, though! They have pretty good air circulation, but I'm not sure how they'd be in super hot weather. I usually wear them when it's less than 70 degrees out, and they're fine then.
