Customer questions and answers for SmartFlex® III Resilience Pellets

Question

I would really like to start my horse on this, but she won't be able to get it every day. Maybe 2 days without supplements then 3 days with.

SO, can I double up, or any ideas? I am all about preventing any problems in the future. Thanks for all your great products!

Thanks for your question. For the best results from a joint supplement such as SmartFlex III Resilience, we recommend feeding it every day. If you’re unable to get to the barn to give it to your horse, we’d suggest asking a friend or your barn manager to add it to your horse’s feed. We also recommend ordering it in pre-measured daily dose SmartPaks to make feeding extremely easy!

Hi Callie- I am not sure as to your situation that you horse isn't able to get the supplement daily. I am at a boarding barn and cannot always be there to set up the supplements for them to put in my horses grain so I have attached a cork board to his stall door and set up baggies, so all they have to do is dump it in his grain when he is fed. Not sure if that would work with your situation. I feel as though to see results your horse needs to be able to get the supplement daily for at least the first month so its in their system. Good luck!

Hi Farmgirl,

There is no loading dose necessary for any of the Smart Flex supplements, which I really appreciate. This supplement was a great choice for my active 10 yr old TWH and has really kept him strong and sound. It's a wonderful product and I love that it supports the tendons as well as the joints. The pellets are so much easier to get them to eat too. I highly recommend this supplement over many others including Cosequin.

Thanks for your question. A loading dose for this supplement is not necessary. If you are interested in trying the SmartFlex III Resilience Pellets, we’d recommend starting with the maintenance serving size of 1 scoop per day.

Thanks for your question. The popping that you hear from your horse’s hocks may be similar to the sound some people can make by “cracking” their knuckles. We would recommend checking with your horse’s veterinarian to make sure that there aren’t any changes to the joints or underlying issues, however there may not be much that can be done for the sounds that you hear. A supplement like the SmartFlex III Resilience Pellets will help to support the health of the joints, tendons, and ligaments, but may not reduce any popping or clicking.
