Thanks for your question. SmartFlex Senior Pellets are an excellent choice for older horses, to help ease the stiffness and discomfort associated with aging. Since your horse has HYPP, we recommend checking with your veterinarian before adding anything new to his diet. However, we can tell you that SmartFlex Senior Pellets are considered to be low in potassium, as they contain less than 0.5% per serving.

Thanks for your question. Since your pony weighs 350lbs, we recommend feeding half of the maintenance dose (0.5 scoops). This option is available as a custom dose for SmartPaks. While we are not aware of any issues with feeding this supplement with pergolide, we recommend consulting with your veterinarian before making any changes to your pony’s diet.
